Hybe is a new TV show on the startup lifestyle premiering on Wednesday, September 23 on MTV's channels. The show has an international team behind it and the concept also aims to go global.
"I'm sure everybody already knows what startups are all about. There is a lot of interest in the scene and for a good reason, since startups create new jobs, growth and innovative new ways to work. There will be a transformation in working life in the upcoming years and startup people will be change agents through agility, reaction speed and enthusiastic attitude", says Hybe's Executive Producer Anna Bessonova.
Hybe will follow passionate people who are full of ideas, as well as companies who throw themselves fully into the world of growth entrepreneurship. Some of the themes of the first season are well-being, crowdfunding and startup events around the world. Interviewees include stars of the startup world and angel investors, but also interesting new personalities with a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
Hybe is also a space to enjoy oneself. In one part of the show, a startup representative will get to pitch and explain his business idea to a guru pitch coach – in just two minutes. At the end of each episode, the entrepreneurs' passion and ability to jump to the most bizarre situations will be put to test in different circumstances such as pitching in a freezing ice-hole and finding out the connection between pirates and startups.
The show is in English and will be hosted by two real startup lifestyle veterans, Anna Bessonova and Greg Anderson. As a media company, Hybe is international both in content and as a business model.
"You have to start somewhere and so we will start as a TV show, but all content will, of course, be also available on our website hybe.com and our app. The audience is basically anyone who is inspired by startups and entrepreneurship. The target group is global, which is why we as a media company with a genuine desire to serve our audience also have to be global. It is also better for journalism that a media company is built with business in mind from day one", says Hybe Media CEO Tatu Tahkokallio.
Hybe premieres on MTV3 on Wednesday, September 23 at 11.10 PM and reruns will air on Sub and AVA. All episodes will also be available on MTV Katsomo and on Hybe's own website at http://www.hybe.com/.
Viewers can also follow Hybe people and events on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram @hybemedia.
