Arianna Huffington, founder of The Huffington Post, underlined the importance of founders' mental and physical health on Thursday when Hybe asked what kind of tips would she give to a new online media about startup lifestyle.
“First of all: enjoy the journey. The journey of a startup is always full of unexpected twists and turns. It’s never a straight line," she told Hybe in Helsinki on Thursday.
"Don’t be discouraged if sometimes there are downturns ... That is a life of a startup," she said, adding that focusing on founders health would be crucial for any startup.
"The more you take care of yourself as founders, the more you will be able to have a thriving startup. Not, as so many founders do, ignore yourself and make bad decisions because you are not in best place to make decisions. You are the founder - it's always the best asset of the startup. You need to protect that asset."
In 2005 Arianna launched The Huffington Post, a news blog and site that quickly became a widely-read publication. In 2012, the site won a Pulitzer Prize for national reporting. Huffington is also the author of 14 books including, "Thrive: The Third Metric to Redefining Success and Creating a Life of Well-Being, Wisdom, and Wonder."
